Reforestation
Many tropical areas are deforested. Our plan
will reverse that and rebuild the ecological integrity
of the area.
Why is reforestation with native forest
species important? Mr. Carlos L. Ulate Rodriguez of
the Costa Rican Ministry of the Environment and Energy
says:
They are native to the region
They have known economic value and their quality and
uses are known
They have a high probability of adaptation to the conditions
of the farm site
They have a higher probability of resistance to plagues
and diseases
They are compatible to the bio diversity of the region
They recuperate areas without forest damage
They better the physical-chemical characteristics of
degraded soils
They are a source of food for the wildlife (birds,
mammals, etc.)
