costa rica land for sale and reforestation

Reforestation
Many tropical areas are deforested. Our plan will reverse that and rebuild the ecological integrity of the area.

Why is reforestation with native forest species important? Mr. Carlos L. Ulate Rodriguez of the Costa Rican Ministry of the Environment and Energy says:

They are native to the region

They have known economic value and their quality and uses are known

They have a high probability of adaptation to the conditions of the farm site

They have a higher probability of resistance to plagues and diseases

They are compatible to the bio diversity of the region

They recuperate areas without forest damage

They better the physical-chemical characteristics of degraded soils

They are a source of food for the wildlife (birds, mammals, etc.)

This is what happens to a stream with no trees to protect it
The streams simply dry up. This is why the Costa Rican government now protects its streams with laws against cutting trees within 15-50 meters from the water (depending on slope). There is strong governmental support for reforestation projects.

This farm will have big trees, little trees, and cows
Some trees will never be cut down and will become old growth. Others will be invested as timber. The cows and horses fit in on this farm as well.
